The International Association of Human Values (IAHV)
The IAHV is an international NGO in special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations.
Through the IAHV, large volunteer relief efforts have been delivered in countries accross the globe, including Afghanistan, Bosnia, India (after the Gujarat earthquake), USA (post 9/11), and the recent tsunami disaster. IAHV volunteers continue to provide trauma relief and stress elimination programmes in Iraq.
Through programmes that educate people about shared values, The International Association of Human Values has been working towards building healthy, suistainable communities in a number of countries around the world.
The IAHV's most popular projects - the 5H (Health, Hygiene, Homes, Human Values, Harmony in diversity) Programme and the YLTP (Youth Leadership Training Programme), which have been implemented in India, South Africa, Bostwana, Poland, USA, Mexico, Panama, Belize and Indonesia, have addressed the immediate needs of at-risk communities, by rebuilding schools, providing proper health-care and educating youth on the necessites of hygiene and respect for the environment.
